Are there any flintlock related shops or places to visit in North West Arkansas?

Suzie Bicio in Ozone used to own Muzzle Loaders Builders Supply but I don't know if She is still in the business of muzzleloading.

I think Caywood is up that way.

Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?

Fiftyfour,
Nothing down here in NW Louisiana! There is not even anyplace to buy real Black Powder in my area. Last year I found a place in Lafayette that supposedly sold it and other muzzleloading accessories. Well, I went down there last summer and they had nothing. There use to be a place near Little Rock but never got the name of the store. Good luck and if you find any supplier, please post for all to see. Thanks.

The only place in north west arkansas to buy real black powder is in Fayetteville,  mountain man pawn shop.  Other than this you will have to go to tulsa oklahoma.

Powder Inc. will deliver it to your door!

If you're wanting just a couple pounds....don't bother!

When I first started shooting BP you could buy it at the local hardware. I asked a local gunshop why they don't sell it and he said his insurance co. would cancel his policy if he had it in the store?

I asked the same question...it's basically blasting powder (an explosive) and that requires expensive permits and special storage requirements.  The local shops can't justify the expense of all that for limited sales.  We've only got one shop in the county that carries it and the price tells me they know that.

Elkhorne, Jack's Powder Keg carries all kinds of powder. GOEX is $18.50 lb. Their Corp. office is in Marksville but you can pick up powder at Kisatchie, La. Call them at 318-253-6423

I’m not sure if Suzie is still in Ozone Arkansas, or not, or if she is still involved with muzzleloaders. Caywood is in Mnt. Home I think, and probably could point you toward what you need that they don’t carry.

Caywood is about 65 miles from me in Berryville, Arkansas. There is also a good gun museum in Berryville.

I would like to know the Answer to this questions too.  I live in Fayetteville and am just getting into flintlocks.  Would love to find others locally who shoot and/or build rifles.
