... WOW... have spoken with the people organizing this project ... I believe there will be 12-15 rifles on display all with ties to the Smoky Mountains ... !!! .... some never seen by the public .....

If I am not mistaken, there will be 20 rifles plus several Tennessee pistols included in the display. Including the great "three-box" Baxter Bean rifle pictured in the announcement that Dennis posted above.

This display will not only feature the guns of the Smoky Mountains, but the Smoky Mountain culture of the people .... there is a great museum on site of the display,....... also a great museum just down the road in Maryville that celebrates the people of Cades Cove (Cades Cove Preservation Association) ....... the guns of the early settlers in the Smokies were as important tools as the chopping-ax and the cook-pot ..... several guns have remained in the same families for generations .... Spend a couple weeks in the area after the Knoxville show and attend this display ... !!! .... Regards, ... C C Fiddler ...
