It's obvious someone has some interest in building nice flintlocks. Great job Tommy! Something on your rifle caught my attention you don't hardly  see on other flintlocks. Where did you get the idea to heat blue all the screws on the gun? Is the tumbler screw and the hammer screw also blued? What was your process to get the heat blue look? Thanks for sharing. Great job!!!

Thanks guys for all your comments.  Steve - yes I am sort of anal about the hardware.  I actually file then polish the heads of my screws to sort of contour to where they are placed.  Then just tease the shank of the screw into a flame on a propane torch until the head starts to turn from straw to purple, at that point they usually turn to blue on their own.  Just more of an aesthetic thing than anything, but I do like the feel of smooth - no burrs, humps, etc..  Yes, I did also blue the tumbler & hammer screw heads also.
