Hey guys,
I thought it would be more appropriate to continue this conversation here in Accoutrements rather than in the "For Sale" section.....that way Mr. Crosby won't have to move it. ;-)
I was introduced to Jim Webb at the CLA show by Bob Hill. As usual with Bob, he shares great advice!
Jim is a really neat guy, and knows tons about our hobby.
Bob pointed me to a copy of Jim's book on triggers, which I happily snapped up and devoured. Jim has shared so much of his knowledge with us in these books.
I grabbed the "for sale" copy of the Sketches of Hunting Pouches and Powder Horns from this forum a week ago, and it already came in. Thank you James Parker! It is a wonderful book, with excellent drawings and loads of fun, folk-artsy work to boot. His text also is great research material as well as being down-to-earth.
I think a re-print is a super idea. If there were enough "pre-sale" copies spoken for, it might persuade Gordon Barlow at CLA that this is a good idea. Posting here in ALR as well as on the Facebook CLA site would be a good way to gauge interest (I know. I am not a fan of FB either).
Here is Jim with his really well-made and creative bags at CLA.....
Here is a photo of an excerpt from the Bag and Horn book (I hope this doesn't violate any rules)....
Below is one of Jim's bags showing the "Tree of Life" (Bob answered that for me), and this bag is exceptional in my opinion. I really appreciate his skill.
I hope this starts some conversations on reprints.
Best wishes and God Bless, Marc
