What happened to the nice web site that listed a plethora of Ohio makers and had that great musical background on their home page??

I had the site on my favorites and when I recently clicked on it, I was put on a YOGA site!

Tried to do a search and found a new place that was authentic but no maker listings or historical information.

 The new web site is www.aolrc.com
 Lots of info on site, which includes all the newsletters and event dates. It doesn’t list all the Ohio gunsmiths from the 18th and 19th century that worked in Ohio. But many of the members follow this forum and will help you with gunsmiths you are trying to locate and/research.

Thanks Tom, that is the new site that I found.   Kind of sad that the old site with all of the old maker listings and locations is gone.

The gunsmith listing on the older web site was very limited. The most comprehensive list published recently in 2017 is : Arms Makers of Ohio by Kevin Ray Spiker, Jr. and James Biser Whisker, Sr. This book is the most accurate and very well done. The listing is in alphabetical order.

 I also attached pictures of several other Ohio gunsmith books, that are great to own.

What please is the best Ohio  Longrifle ref book.......eg images for building etc  and information ..(biographies )

 The best set of books on Ohio rifles that shows both images and biographies is the 5 volume set :
Ohio Gunsmiths & Allied Tradesmen 1750-1950 by Donald Hutslar. I believe the set typically sells for $125.00. The gunsmiths are listed by county.
 These volumes were published and sold through the efforts of the Asso. of Ohio Long Rifle Collectors , with updated and more accurate gunsmith info. furnished by Jim Whisker. Rifle pictures were primarily taken by Jim through many years of work.
 If you are only interested in a specific gunsmith or County, the specific volume can be purchased individually.

Thanks for all that .........I might just get a set and will decide this evening am also after  Gunmakers Of Western Penn......?
Any have both the set and gunmakers of Western Pennsylvania.
