Fowler Finally Completed with First Carving!!!!!!!

Well here it is in all is glory.  Many of you wanted to see pictures when this was completed.  It is being shipped out to a customer in Washington State on Monday I hope he likes it.  Please let me know what I can do to improve the next one I build.  As I said this was my first attempt to carve.  This is only the 29th rifle I have built so I am sure there is much to improve on.

Very nice indeed!  Real tight inletting.  As stated by everyone else, He's going to be very pleased. I hope he takes it off the wall  to shoot it. Beautiful job.  ...Geo.

Thank you very much for all the comments.  I don't like the shiny lock or shiny brass but that is the way he wanted it.  I also would have liked to see a nose cap, but as they say the customer is always right! ;D

Rich, a great looking piece of wood, excellent metal to wood fit, nice carving, lines look good.  To be on the safe side though ship it to Ohio, let me try it out to make sure. ;D ;D ;D.   A beauty of a fowler!!

Very crisp workmanship. Nice job. May I ask, what grade of maple is that stock. Real pretty piece of wood.

Yup it's a smoothy!  Getz 20Ga. 46" long!  Was a bear to shape being that long! ;D

Your pictures show us that you've done a very respectable job.  Your inletting is great and the stain and finish - excellent.  The tang carving gives the gun a touch of extravagant class.  I can't imagine why your client would mot be ecstatic.

It looks great to me, Very tight inletting, and the lock is polished so bright it hurt my eyes ;D Your customer will be very happy!!
