Could someone please tell me who the maker of a flintlock with a buck's head is stamped inside the lock?
I bought the lock, and can't remember who the maker is.
Is it senility, age, or "CRAFT" disease. ::)
Any help is appreciated.

Fred, is it a percussion lock?  Could it be a Browning Mt. Rifle lock?

No, it is not a  Browning percussion lock, it is definitely a flintlock.
It resembles a L&R Classic lock  model 2100 or 2150

Then it is likely some assembler's mark...obscure, apparently.

L&R puts a buck's head stamp on their trigger plates.  Maybe they've started stamping their locks as well.

Thank you, for your help.
In my treasure box of JUNK, I found a L&R trigger with the same touch mark, so I guess it is a L&R mark, as the lock is the same as the L&R Classic lock.
