2018 Oakridge TN match and gun display
« on: April 01, 2018, 01:48:19 AM »
My buddy Rick Weber of TN host a wonderful  long range ML match every year.

We shoot at 200, 300, 600 and 1,000 yards.

This year he asked for folks to bring Whitworth and Alexander Henry rifles to show and for pictures to be taken of.

There were I think just over 30 guns on display.  As you will see some are cartridge, but most were ML.

While we do not discuss cartridge guns, there is a member of this forum that had a major hand in making one of them.

Al Roberts, son of the late Bill Roberts shows how to use one of the rifles he brought for display.

The display alone was almost worth the 13 hour drive each way.

ENJOY

Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?

These magnificent rifles, like the Duesenberg cars came into being at a point in
time when there were artists and craftsmen that could build them and money
that could buy them and DID.They left us with magnificent relics and in the case
of the Duesenberg, rolling master pieces of a day long past and hopefully that will never
be repeated.

David R.  I was just going to say that.  At any rate, looks like a good position to take a nap.    ;D

If a person just had someone to reload it for them, they could nap between shots...
