Back when Rifles of Colonial America was out of print, and there was "no way" that Shumway, then in bad health, was ever going to print another edition, I searched and searched, and finally found a single Volume II, for which I paid $250. Later, I finally found I and II, and paid $500 for them, and then sold the one single extra volume. Simply put, I HAD to have them. It was less than a year later, I think, that suddenly, a new edition was being published for 60 bucks a copy... oh well. Normally, though, it's a one shot deal. If a book like this ever does get published (do you know how many books I have waited for, that I was told would be out any day now???), it is not likely at all that it will get a second run. Buy them while you can. Once they're out of print, they can be VERY hard to find at any price.
