Here`s a left handed Southern rifle I recently finished . It has a  .40 caliber Rice  Southern Classic barrel 42 inches long  . An L&R flintlock that I polished and tuned. The triggers are Siler set triggers . The butt plate is  a casting . The rest of the mounts were made by me. Just a fairly plain little hunting rifle. It has a very nice feel to it.  Sorry for the poor pics :( Nate

I am partial to the plainer iron mounted rifles myself.  Great work.

I like that gun a lot, Nate!  You did a fantastic job, as usual.  Looking forward to seeing the next one already.

Yes, that is an extremely charming - I like iron Southern rifles - and good looking .40.  I do see two things wrong with it, however.  First off, it's a lefty; second it ain't mine.

Great job Nathan, SMR's are supposed to be simple but elegant and that is what you have produced with this rifle. I like it.

Fine looking long rifle. These plain and simple rifles have always been my favorites
and to me they are,in their own way as good for hunting or paper punching as
good as the fanciest ones ever made.
