what a day
« on: May 30, 2009, 02:36:05 AM »
went to the range today and took a .40 and a .45, both flinters. I think I had too many brain cells die over night as I did everything wrong you can think of. couldn't hit the side of a barn, broke two flints, double loaded the .45 and then proceded to dry ball the .40. thank goodness I caught the double load before I touched it off[ thanks to a marked ram rod] If I had been in hostile territory I would've been scalped for sure  :o >:( :-[ :'(

Like to hear others talk about those days.  then I don't feel so bad when they happen to me.  Misery loves company.

I dry-balled once ;D, and double loaded the .69 once (maybe more) - kicked pretty hard too.  It's amazing how much 'rock' you get out of 330gr. of 2f and a 480gr. ball.  Of course, the rifle is 9 1/2 pounds so the recoil isn't sharp. Did I mention my torn cartilage front and back in my rifle shoulder?
