Rice barrels
« on: June 01, 2018, 03:15:16 PM »
The current MuzzleBlasts has an interview with Jason.  Lots of interesting, but unknown facts, about his barrels.  For instance, they are heat treated to normalize them and a carbide button is run thru the bore after rifling to remove any imperfections in the bore.

How can I possibly blame my bad shooting on imperfections in the bore if you go and tell everyone that Rice barrels removes imperfections????!!!!

Poor shooting can be from forgetting to add powder or even to having
one of the sights on the wrong flat of the barrel.

Best buy someone else's barrels so there might be an excuse for missing.  Or choose Rice and just eliminate the human error factor.

I`ve used a lot of good barrels from different barrel makers. When I  draw file a barrel , a Rice makes it " more funner" ;D     I can finish a Rice barrel quicker, giving me more time to screw something else up! Nate

The bad usual shooting I do gets blamed on the haze coming off Rice barrels caused by the type of steel they're made from.  Well, that's the only excuse I've been able to come up with so I'm sticking to it.  ::)

OMG..!!!
Here we go again .
I appreciate my Rice barrel for putting the blame for anything less than a one-hole group squarely where it belongs... on ME. Same with my Chambers lock.
