learned some new tricks!!
« on: August 12, 2018, 08:22:36 AM »
So, today I learned how to inlay decorative metal wire and plates into barrels. Ryan from Muzzleloader Builder's Supply put on a great class at the Montana Historical Gunmaker's guild faire. I am quite pleased with how my first attempts turned out. Might make a small pistol from the stub one day.

I’d be pleased with results like that, too. Nice work.

WOW, Justin!  That is really nice work!  Looks like it was born that way!

We are all elated when Dame Fortune smiles at us, but remember that she is always closely followed by her daughter, Miss Fortune.

I've always wanted to learn that.  How's it done?

Shallow, slight dovetail locks it in ...
All of my muzzleloaders will shoot into one ragged hole ALL DAY LONG ... it's just the 2nd or 3rd & other shots that tend to open up my groups ... !
