KRF Gunmakers Workshop Scholarship for Jan. 2019
« on: August 22, 2018, 06:20:27 AM »
In 2018 the Kentucky ifle Fundation graciously made available a scholarship to the Gunmakers Workshop in an effort to promote and encourage the art and craft of long rifle building among interested young folks. The scholarship covers the full cost ($1075) of tuition, room and board plus an additional $500 awarded to the recipient to apply toward any needed supplies such as gun parts, tools or other materials that may be needed to complete their project gun.

For 2019 the KRF has again offered this generous scholarship. The recipient must be between 18 and 30 who has an intense desire to get involved or further their skills in the building of the Kentucky Rifle. Applicants are required to submit an essay which serves as a method to determine which candidate will be chosen. This essay can include previous experience in gunbuilding or any related skills. You might want to include what you hope to gain from this experience as well as any involvement in living history hunting or anything you feel is relevant. Some hand tools will be required and a tool list will be made available to you if selected.

The essay must be returned by November 1, 2018 via email or USPS. Shortly after we will notify the winner and all other recipients. One other thing we recieved many fine applicants last year and would invite any of them to reapply.
