Walter O'Connor Auction

Was anybody at the Walter O'Connor auction yesterday? I was, and it was a great experience. (Did not buy anything, just watched.) The rifles tended to sell within the estimated ranges, but the powderhorns and the documents generally exceeded--at times by far--the estimates. One powderhorn (Lot 28), estimated at $20-$45K, sold for $70,000 (which is $86,000 with buyers premium and PA tax).

I was surprised that Lehigh supposedly John Moll patch box (Lot #1) went for so little. Or...could there have been some question as to its authenticity?  I'm not saying it would go for five figures but I certainly would have thought plenty more than $1,700+-.

I was surprised, too--I wondered if its placement, as the first lot, affected that. I think if it had come up in the midst of other things it would have sold for more money.
