Last year I picked up a bench copy of the so-called "Sister Rifle" of RCA 19 (look up that topic on the Antique Gun Collecting forum if you're not familiar with these rifles) . It has sling swivels just like the original and I'd like to find out who makes the best, most authentic (in terms of materials at least since I doubt anything original exists) leather items and can make me a sling. I have no interest in commercially-tanned leathers, chemical dyes, off-the-shelf buckles, or heavy adornment based on nothing but fantasy. I'm looking for something one might expect to see on a ca. 1750 rifle from eastern Pennsylvania. Can anyone recommend "the best" out there?
