Some of my stuff to pass on to the family
« on: November 05, 2018, 08:37:09 PM »
Took a few shots of the guns going to my daughter and grandchildren before turning them over to her.

Makes me wish I was a grandson ;D Beautiful rifles Hlbly. I hope that they cherish them for ever. Beautiful work my friend, your work ranks up there with the best I have ever seen.

Never had an order for one. Haven’t built anything in the last 35 years or so. Southern guns were not as desirable back then.

Hlbly, those are museum quality, IMHO, and beauties, too.  Passing 'em down to family?  Oh, I just checked and we are brothers that were separated at birth!  So save one to pass down to lil' ol' AHEM! me.   ;D 8)

It's OK, Uncle Hanshi - I am his 73 year old surprise son, and am waiting for my rifle.  I'll let you touch it, too!  We relatives got to stick together.

Hlbly (aka Dad), you sure make some awesome looking firearms.  And it is OK to engrave my name on the patch box, and you sign the barrel.  I will let Uncle Hanshi shoot it from time to time.

Dana ask him about the Stephen Crain miniatures that he did, they are extremely fine little rifles.

I think you're more of a hill-william with that kind of good work :).  Great things to pass down!

It's a great feeling to be able to pass down your treasures, such as the muzzle loaders. That rifle pictured is beautiful.

I am fortunate in that I asked my son which of my firearms he would like to keep if anything happened to me (I was going in for some serious surgery). He answered: "All of them!" It was the answer I had hoped for.

Jim, what scale are those miniature rifles done in?  They are all lovely pieces, great wood, and great workmanship.

Thank you, kind sir.  And are these functional, or decorative - or both??!!
It appears you have a genuine talent for making longrifles - those are very beautiful examples.

The miniatures are functional, they are correct inside and out. Those guns are about 30-35 years old. I haven’t been able to build anything since the late 1980’s. I bought these back from estates when they came up for sale.
