Bluing Services
« on: December 05, 2018, 08:37:36 PM »
i'm sure this has been asked before, but I'm new to the forum so please bear with.  Can anyone recommend a good bluing service for barrels and maybe some hardware (locks, sights, trigger guards, etc.)?  The gunsmiths in my area can't handle a 42 " barrel, so I'm looking to find some place I can send my stuff to.

Thanks,

Dave

If it helps, traditional bluing is not traditionally used on longrifle.
Charcoal bluing, rust bluing, browning (questionable) and armory bright are the norm, depending on the time frame. All can be done at home quite easily.  (With the exception of charcoal blue). It's kind of a bugger.
