Try WD40 "Specialist" Long Term Corrosion Inhibitor. It may be a little hard to find and it's about $22.00 for a small spray can, but it does work.
FWIW in a long term salt-spray corrosion test of 46 different products, that was rated the number one best preservative and protectant!

I came across the results of that experiment too. The results were impressive. But I still haven't pulled the trigger and ordered any of the WD LTCI yet. I can't find it anywhere locally either.

It seems it would work well for preventing rust from occurring in a clean bore. But in the case of the OP I doubt it would stop or reverse a process already started.

I shot TC guns for years using the "P" stuff, didn't know better. I shot my gun out at the end of the day and gave the barrel the soapy water bucket douche job as soon as I got home, I never had any rusting or pitting.

I went to the dark side for years with one of those scoped new fangled thingies some call a M/L. Common sense prevailed and I came back to my roots, I found I could buy BP online and never considered using the "P" stuff again.

I have real blackpowder in my guns, modern and traditional, for over 20 years. I used pyro for a few years in the beginning with modern guns, but I could and did pull the breech plugs and clean religiously with the best bo solvent then available a gel product by Shooters Choice available before the “green versions” that are all that are available now. Since I switched to Black I use warm soapy water or ballistol based moose milk and straight ballistol and have no issues.
