I hunt for one reason;

The contents of the cooler are actually roadkill. I went to town, no dead deer on the side of the road near the house. On my return on hour later there was a huge dead doe laying still warm on the side of the road. Off to my house to get my truck with the deer hoist in the back. Turns out the doe had been hit in the head and neck, no body damage.

I only pick up roadkill that I see hit or know for sure is very fresh, the one above is the third one I have salvaged over the years. I have turned down many more when I got a call of a fresh one from someone who saw it hit but was too far away for me to drive to in the middle of the night.

I prefer big antlers, they make great handles for dragging out all that venison.   ;)

I've only hunted squirrels. Not on kill >:(. My cat mouse loves to kill squirrels.
