Chambers early ketland lock
« on: June 17, 2020, 12:34:51 AM »
I wanted to use an early ketland on a rifle, and wondered how it would fit with a B weight .50 cal ?
I have the lock , all filed and polished to 400 grit , and now need a barrel. My first choice was a C weight 42 in in .54 , but just wondered about the " B"

I think it'll work just fine BOTW.  for reference, here's a couple images of a JP Beck with a Large Siler flintlock and a B 50 cal barrel 44" long.  The
Beck is the top rifle.

That Beck looks familiar - I think that one lives with me.
It's great and works great.

The Early Ketland would be fine with both those barrels.
You can also get the Rice Beck barrel in 54 cal. It has a 1" breech.

This is not a "B" weight barrel but it has a 1" breech and is 42" long.
