Next project
« on: January 10, 2019, 12:17:28 AM »
I will be finishing up the Antes pistol for my middle son sometime this week. I have another pistol to assemble for my youngest son. He wanted an 1805 harpers Ferry pistol, so several years back we ordered all the castings from the Rifle Shoppe. The barrel I made with the gracious help of Don Stith sending me the dimensions of his original barrel. The wood is a piece of black walnut cut here locally. Here is a beginning photo.

I hope I can do it justice.
Thanks, Mark

I’ve always liked those Harper’s Ferry pistols...I think they’re one of the better looking of the military styled pistols. Keep us posted!

I agree, and think this is a really worthwhile project.  The HF pistols have style and grace far exceeding all other martial pistols.

Agreed, the Harpers Ferry pistols were one of the prettiest martial pistols made. Again, I hope that I can do it justice.
Thanks, Taylor.

You have a pretty piece of wood there, and the grain is great for a pistol.  Good luck with the build

Thank you, Craig. It is a pretty piece of wood. It will make a beautiful stock, if I don't mess it up.
