I have a question about Lehigh County screw-tip horns. For the purposes of this question I am referencing page 128 of Tom Grinslade's book Powder Horns, Documents of History. Does the tip screw into the collar or into the horn? In other words, does the collar just slide over the horn and is held in place by the tip? I am afraid that I already made a threaded collar out of a solid piece of horn, and then started to think that maybe that wasn't how it was done. I am looking for a little clarification for future PA Screw-tip horns.
Thanks,
Mark
