Could you please share the inspiration for the side plate?

The side plate was inspired by a gun in "Of Sorts of Provincials" a Dutch plate, thought it something different.

The gun is exquisite. The aging, the furniture, the beautiful piece of stock wood, all make this gun something special. The sideplate is a little troubling to me. It looks very modern in design. Period engraving on it might help.

Oh my!  Now that is a fine looking gun.  The finish is delightful.  Very warn and inviting.  I like the interesting and unique lines.  That trigger guard is eye catching.  Well done.  God Bless,   Marc

John brought his Fowler by the shop earlier this week, and I can honestly say it looks even better in person.  What’s even more impressive to me is that, except for the barrel, lock and trigger, all the other components were hand made.  John obviously payed attention to Ian & Ken’s instruction.  Keep up the great work!
