Magnifying visors???
« on: March 30, 2019, 10:11:20 PM »
I'm in need of a new magnifying visor, just wondering what you would all recommend, I wear mine pretty much the whole time I'm building a rifle, so it wouldn't be just for engraving.
What I had was an old black visor that I had for probably about 12 years, don't remember where I got it.
They work fairly well, the only thing I didn't like was that it made feel closed in!
Thought maybe the clip on might be better, I don't know, just wondering you guys think????

The Lee Valley Tools model pictured are really nice. If you really need to see closer, wearing reading glasses as

well as the visor will give even more magnification.  I keep a pair of 4X readers in my fly fishing bag for tying on VERY small patterns.

My normal bi-focal readers aren't good enough.

I second the reading glasses. I have more than one power on my work bench and they work for me even with out the visors.

I ordered one of those visors as well and they arrived today.  My wife is a quilter and she checked them out.  She was so impressed that she decided to keep them for herself.  So I went on line to order another pair and Lee Valley Tools said the special buy was over and the item was no longer available.  The little woman said not to worry, she would lend them to me occasionally if I really needed to use them.  After 38 years of marriage I should have learned enough to just sneaked them over to my shop when I got them. >:(

Yeah I got mine yesterday, and I was really impressed, that's when I discovered my wife had ordered one for herself as well, as she was doing the ordering. 😊
