Another question. Planning on using LMF barrel brown to blue/black the barrel.
Do y'all remove the front and rear sights before, or leave on?

No! Remove the sights, and the breech plug. Leave the barrel lugs. If you don't you run the risk, and it's huge, of having trapped oil or dirt that will never yield a good even finish. Brown the sights and plug separately.

I remove the sights but leave the breechplug on. Never had to contend w/ oil exuding from the plug/bbl seam. .....Fred
