Muzzleloader Magazine Scholarship
« on: July 16, 2019, 07:04:17 AM »

Attention aspiring young gunmakers! We are accepting applications for the Muzzleloader Magazine Scholarship to the 2020 Gunmakers' Workshop

For the last four years, Jason Gatliff of Muzzleloader Magazine and some generous folks who have donated to the cause have been sponsoring a Scholarship which essentially pays the full cost for a young person to attend the Gunmakers' Workshop at Canter's Cave. The recipient of the scholarship will attend the full week long class in January. Previous gunmaking may be a plus when applying but is not a requirement.

In addition to the class fees being covered, the larger, more expensive parts (such as stock blank, barrel, lock, and hardware) plus services like barrel inletting and custom parts fabrication have been donated by our extremely supportive friends and suppliers. In the past we have had donations from David Rase, Chambers Flintlocks, Rice Barrels, Jim Kibler, Larry Zornes and R.E Davis. We thank all of them for their generosity.

For those of you who have long been involved in the longrifle scene, I don't need to describe to you what a wonderful opportunity this would be for a young person who is interested in learning the craft. If you know of somebody who meets the criteria please pass the info along to them!

Here is a link to information on applying for the scholarship -
