Force 44 solder

Hi is there anything to use in place of Force 44 with the same PSI
   It is rather expensive to get a small order shipped to Canada
     Any ideas ??

I used to use Force 44, good stuff. But I ran out many years ago and now use 50/50 and don't notice any difference.

Brownells Hi-Force 44 solder contains 4% silver and 96% tin. This is a common solder composition. Just check the composition of solders available in Canada and you should find something like this fairly easily.

I use Stay-brite solder now and it works well for me. I think it is 94% tin and 6% silver. I buy it in a "kit" with the flux. Low temp like Force 44.

Sydney:  Canada Metals used to market a product called 95/5 lead free soft solder. Used in the dairy industry and plumbing.  I used it lots when I lived in Canada.  It is twice the tensile strength of leaded solder and flows at roughly the same temp as 40/60 lead solder.   Hugh Toenjes
