Davy Crockett Days-Lawrenceburg, TN -THIS WEEKEND!!!!!

Davy Crockett Days is an annual event held at David Crockett State Park near Lawrenceburg TN. This year it will be 6,7&8 August. It's hosted by the Davy Crockett Longhunters. This is a Rendezvous type event with a woods walk, novelty shoot, tomahawk throwing, etc... Lots of traders, sutlers & blankets..... TVM out of Corinth, Ms is usually there with a bunch of their guns, parts and supplies. Its open to the public but has primitive & modern camping. It's a lot of fun!!!!

I plan to be there.  Did they get the range officer problem solved so that we can shoot?

I just checked their flyer and it looks like the shoot is on!  Anybody else going? This is a great event and well worth attending.

I talked top jim in the hatchie run and we are both bringing our cannons to shoot on the @!*% saturday night.  should be lots of fun.

It's always held on one of the hottest weekends of the year.

TOF is right about the heat - Ol' David picked a hot time of the year to be born.   I've been twice, and have found that going down to Shoal Creek down at Crockett Falls in the morning before the 'vous really gets going, wading in and cooling off and rinsing off a bit is a good way to start the day.   Usually saw some turkey and deer, plus there are some old millstones in the creek that may have come from the old millworks there.   Won't be there this year (somehow, a 500 mile drive just looks longer than it did the last time I made the trip), but I've no doubt it'll be 'shinin' times.'

Well, we went, we saw, and we sweated our a***s off!!  Way to hot and humid but still had fun anyway.  I even managed to place 2nd in the grand agg.  Fired off my new cannon on the @!*% saturday night, made a BIG BOOM and seemed to impress the folks.  Good times, lookin forward to next year.

I went with my son,Clint E, and my brother Saturday afternoon. We didn't get to shoot but had a good time. We each bought a few items. I look foward to this event every year because its close to home. Its always hot but if you take it easy its not too bad. Several years ago we went to the Southeastern at Troy, Al. It was April but South Alabama gets HOT in April. At least there's some shade at Davy Crockett. We'll be looking forward to next year.
