I think the trigger from TOW is an early style, rather gracefully shaped and with a subtle reverse bend right at the tip.  The triggers on the guns shown in the original post are thicker and clunkier, with more of a knob at the tip.  TOW actually had these heavier triggers in stock for a while, but I saw them listed in the "Closeout" section of Track's website some time back and I don't think they are available anymore. The difference may be subtle , but it's there.

Considering the interest people have in Northwest guns, it is surprising how few choices there are for authentic-looking parts.  There were several different trigger types, but I don't think these have been examined as carefully as locks and serpents.

Best regards,

I’m with Rich, I usually make my own or I alter what I’ve bought in the past (have a box of them).  It’s not that hard.  I started making my own when I messed up drilling for the pivot pin and didn’t want to wait for new one to arrive.  Scrap steel, files, hack saw, propane torch and a hammer (I like a ball peen hammer for this) are all you need.

I agree, these triggers are easy to make, you get to learn a new skill and it is kinda' fun as well.

I made 5 or 6  in the practice phase, all cold forged, each took about an hour to rough out and shape, the final finishing took a bit longer.

I made a more ornate one for my fowler, no particular reason and I wasn't copying anything, I just wanted more bling.

In the past I made almost all my triggers but then I wasn't 83 years old.  Time has taken a toll on me I fear. I may have to but I'd rather not. Thanks for the info you guys. JWH

I didn’t realize your age there, can understand now.  Unfortunately there isn’t a lot to choose from.

I would be very happy to bang one out for you Jerry “on the prairie” as we used to say. You’ve contributed so much here. If you have a drawing with a ruler or grid and can post it I will do it.

I might take you up on the Rich.  I'm just shaping the stock now so I have a while to go. I haven't done any gun work for almost a year do to health issues. I have to do everything sitting down. I hate it.
