Hi Folks, Here is the second one of Bob's guns for which I am posting pictures. In hand this gun feels amazing. This one is obviously a "smoothie". God Bless, Marc

That stock does feel and handle super. Sadly, this one was not intended for me!

I used an L&R lock, an early Virginia buttplate, I think a Dutch guard and a pattern I made from an early Virginia rifle on this fowling piece. It was a 48” 20 ga. Greg Christian barrel. Thanks for the kind words.

I love the sideplate, very creative. Do you mind if I borrow that design then claim I came up with it first? LOL!
Very nice Bob.

Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?

I too like that sideplate - maybe you need to make a couple hundred and sell them.
You did fool me with the "composite" in the title - thought I would see one of those new-fangled plastic things.
Great job, beautiful Fowler!

That side plate is an accurate recreation of how early settlers saw gators. :-) Carolina yard dogs indeed.
My apologies for the color of the gun in those photos. For some reason it came out purple looking in the photos. It is not. The color is closer to the shade in the top buttplate photo.
God Bless, Marc

How'd I miss this earlier, another nice one, the side plate was the first thing that caught my eye, great idea, it's one thing to see something in your head but another in being able to get that idea into reality.
Like all the finish as well.
