Personally I like the New England fowler better, have more basic architecture options from the photos I have looked at.

I built The Rifle Shoppe's Long Land Pattern Brown Bess quite a few years ago, and it turned out to be a wonderful shooting gun.   It was deadly at trap and with a .735 cal round ball, a .030" patch and 86 gr. FFg GOEX I won a lot of matches.  But it weighed 11 pounds, without the bayonette.  If I had to do it again, I'd go with Chamber's 10 bore.

I think this is the one Taylor speaks of.

Here's my 10 ga fowling piece that I believe began life as a Chambers kit.  It's very light and easy to point, much more so that my Miroku Brown Bess (not first model but I'm guessing similar weight).

By-the-way, that's an outstanding Brown Bess, Daryl and Taylor.
