Reference Book Recommendations
« on: November 13, 2019, 02:32:40 AM »
Fellers, and especially horners...I’ve been looking through my library, and though I have several books on powder horn making, I have little in the way of actual reference material about horns.

What are some of your “go to” books on regional characteristics, details, etc.?  I realize that definitive answers are probably scarce, but what makes a horn probably from Virginia, North or South Carolina, besides the fact of it being collected there?

It’s time to step up my horn game, and the first step is gathering reference material.

Thanks in advance for your recommendations!

I'm interested in responses here. Sometimes they seem to be referenced to origin,...other times it seems they go with time period or event. Rev war,...French and Indian,..Lake George school,......Siege of Boston. Tansels were a family,...but everyone knows what it is when you say it. History is messy business.
