Here's a pretty easy fix for a mis-drilled lock bolt hole.  No welder needed.  Questions or comments are always great!

This is an air / acygtelene tourch.  Think it's sold under the name Torbo Torch?  It works pretty well.  A little easier to use than an oxy / acyetelen, but is rather noisy.

I've used a Turbo Torch on many things.  It is really good for annealing, as it is difficult to burn the metal.

I did the same fix on a deluxe Chambers siler lock the other day that I missed the mark on. I countersunk and peened both ends of the lock bolt but didn't solder it in because my next hole was not even going to be close to my patched hole. It came out well and is almost invisible. The patched hole is to the left of the bolster screw.

What silver solder?  Jim mentioned 56% silver.  I have some "easy 65%" that does not flow the way I would want.  I used to have some ribbon silver solder that flowed like soapy water.  I'd like to get some more of that type but am not sure what to get.

I buy mine from Rio Grande jewelry supply.   It comes in a variety of silver contents.  I use extra-easy through medium.  The extra-easy flows very well.
