My "2nd Amendment" Horn
« on: June 30, 2009, 07:31:47 AM »
Thought I'd post a pic or two of my latest powder horn.  This happens to be my 20th completed horn since I took a class a couple years back at the Oregon Gunmaker's Fair.

This is a fairly large horn, measuring 13 inches from the spout to the end of the domed butt.  On one side of the horn I engraved a Tansel style Federal Eagle, with arrows in one claw and olive branches in the other.  The eagle is holding a banner with E Pluribus Unum in its beak.

The opposite side has the Second Amendment to the Constitution inscribed with the word PEOPLE in larger letters to emphasize that it is a right of the people.

The domed butt plug is turned from walnut and secured with four iron nails.  A hand forged iron staple is in the end of the plug for rear strap attachment.

Thought you might enjoy it.

Why thank you all!  I'm in Baltimore right now and will be heading up to Dixons on Friday.  I have this horn and a few others with me.  Hope to see some of you there.
