I was just watching a video that the Shiloh Sharps Co. put out in 2004 (with the Quigley soundtrack in the background), at 6:34 to 6:42 in the video a guy is using a pneumatic file sander on the buttstock around the tang & lockplate areas. So apparently the kerfuffle about "tearin' up yar gunn reel fast" isn't quite true is it.

Well we're a mix of amateurs and professionals here with some amateurs who doing professional-level/masters' work.  So I'd say it's all about skills and comfort zones.  I don't care for the noise and fine dust.

The first 100 of that particular stock are the hardest.  After that it is all down hill.   

When making a single stock of a new type for the first time I tread lightly.  If I was expected to shape 10 of the same type in one day that is a different thing.   

Neat video.  Am I the only one who finds unnecessary music annoying?  I'd much rather heard the shop noises.
