Brooks Hudson Valley Fowler 60” Barrel #135
« on: January 07, 2020, 05:54:27 PM »
I ran across a collector I exchanged a few horns and bags with and after seeing my Mike Brooks gun he said he thought he had one of Mikes guns in his safe but didn’t know anything about the builder. I’m assuming this is one of Mike’s as I don’t think Jack numbered his guns this way, and it’s pretty Brooksie, but this one goes back a bit. Haven’t seen Mike post lately and I’m not sure how long this Fowler has been out of circulation so I thought I’d post it. Sorry, no full length pic but this is what he sent me. I could probably get a full length but this feller is one of our less ‘Interwebby’ brothers.

I’d say that’s a Mike Brooks gun.

Is the RB on the butt plate the owners initials ? Is that a J above the RB ?

Mike occasionally customizes buttplates with the owners name or something to do with the purpose of the gun. One says Hog hammer I think. I’ve seen them with owners names, initials, etc.

I think it was made originally for Brad Jenkinson. I have a bag and horn by Brad. He does great stuff.
