couple of knives

Been needing to make some knives made up for a while. Finally got a model made up for this years class on folders and a larger rib tickler. The big knife has a birds eye maple handle with pewter inlay and bolster. Now to get the others made and maybe an axe or two forged up.

No, they are not for sale. At least not at this time.

Those are nice.  What timeframe would a folding knife like that have been common?  I don’t know much about knives.

Great looking knives

Mike the folder falls about the last quarter od the 18th century through the first quarter of the 19th century.

Tim I think the blade is about 2-3/4" or something like that.

Put some of Kibler's stain on the birds eye today. Rubbed some bone black into the wood after the stain and put a coat of sealer on it.

I got to handle Brian's "memory knife" while at the Alabama Kentucky Longrifle show.  I was very impressed with the weight, feel and balance of that knife.  It felt very light and maneuverable in the hand but still solid in the overall blade design.
