Hershel House article in color
« on: July 14, 2009, 02:08:23 AM »
David Wright and I uploaded the most recent of the CLA Featured Artists on my web site. This one is "Hershel House and his Woodbury School".   Seventeen color photos are included; some that didn't make the Muzzleloader article.  It's worth a look.  This is the last one that will appear before the CLA show in Lexington.  The series originated to push the "House Brothers - An American Tradition. Do you have your raffle tickets yet?  Here is the link:

If when I croak, I find that there is reincarnation, can I come back as one of the House brothers? What must it be like to have that level of skill and ability?

An article on the House's appeared in last month's American Rifleman.  There was a blurb in this month's issue that stated they had also taken a camera crew when they did the interview.  It's supposed to be shown on the 29th of this month on the Outdoor channel.

I just acquired today, a beautiful rifle signed..." F. & J. House - Woodbury".   It is a gun built by Frank and John in 1983.
Has brass hardware, and I think Frank said they got that by melting down 50 cal. machine gun cases.   Also, Frank has
the bottom of the barrel engraved with a "#1", it is his first gun after he decided to go into gunbuilding full time.  Fabulous gun....will have it on display on my table at the CLA..........Don

Thanks Larry,
I have read that article a couple of times already in the magazine but this is a bit nicer.

Don, You don't, per chance, happen to have about a 6 foot long mailbox, at your place, with a sign that says 'Throw your old guns here," do you?  Or live near the railroad tracks?  A neighbor of my fathers used to work for the RR and he was always coming home with all kinds of neat stuff... said it must have fell off the train.

Great acquisition!!     ;D
