Bag #22 - Stitches

Lots of stitches.  :-) 

I just finished up this one.  Straightforward 7-1/2" x 7-1/2" inside-out bag, but dressed up with some decorative stitching.  Cowhide bridle leather.  One inside pocket as part of the stiffener in the top back of the bag.  Rolled buckskin edging on inside top of front panel.  Trying to swing back towards a slightly dressier look.

I like that you decided to go bold with the shapes, and the color is rich and well done. You definitely decided to put on a straight-neat-perfect stitching clinic.

 Really neat, looks like it belongs on a character in one of the paints James posted or a well-to-do Plantation owner. I can see Benjamin Martin pulling it out of his trunk as he collects his tools as his house burns.

An absolute beauty, Marc!  I love it...that bridle leather sure makes a classy bag! I’m gonna have to try that stiffener/pocket technique.

Gee Tim, that is one heck of a compliment.  Thank you.  I guess that really was what I had in the back of my mind when designing it, and I hoped it would come out okay. The Benjamin Martin comment resonates, as my wife and I have stayed at "Aunt Charlotte's House" many times.  Mansfield is a gorgeous property.  The amazing artist that did all of the blacksmithing for that movie lives a few miles from there.  God's Country for sure.

Marc I really like the pocket doubling as the stiffener (or is it vice versa?) I think that is sheer brilliance.

I don,t know if I have the right words but that leather looks supple and the bag and stitching are top shelf.
