Uses for rawhide
« on: April 21, 2020, 12:01:54 AM »
I recently ordered some "leather" but apparently I wasn't paying attention to what I was buying. So I now have a decent sized piece of very thin ( 1 to 1.5 oz ) rawhide goat skin.

Not sure if I should sell it for what I can get out of it or try to make something from it... Besides dog chew toys.

Rawhide makes excellent knife sheath liners. Can be wet and formed. Jerry

A quiver I just finished, made from a sheet deer rawhide.
Working a piece that size will make you say things you probably shouldn't...

For me it makes great horn patch, if you wet it and cut it thin enough strapping. Best use I've found for it is heads.
