Types of squirrel rifles
« on: April 26, 2020, 02:25:41 AM »
Hi, I am thinking about a squirrel rifle for my next build. I was thinking 32 cal. The gun will be left handed so what lock and length barrel. Pictures would be great not necessarily left handed guns, just different styles.
Thanks,Gary

If your after pictures for ideas go over to our black powder shooting forum and look at the thread called let me see your squirrel rifles. As far as choices for left handed locks go the left hand Siler is one choice along with a couple of other offerings from L & R. Pickings area bit thinner for lefties. I prefer longer barrels to get the sights further away from my eyes so I can focus better. .36 cal is the smallest I like as anything smaller gets too fiddley for my fingers when cold. Hope this helps. BJH

I second BJH's recommendation for a .36 caliber gun.  IMHO, it makes a great small game rifle and works for target shooting as well.
