Frizzen
« on: June 19, 2020, 03:59:25 PM »
Does anyone know where I can send a frizzen to be refaced and hardened?

Thanks
Todd

You could send the whole lock to Cabin Creek.

I have used Larry Zorne's services for this kind of work.

Thanks for all the replies.  After reading about the metallurgy in most domestic made locks, I just refaced the frizzen.  Used a drum sander to remove 30+ years of use from the frizzen.  Much flatter with more surface area.  Now it produces sparks like it used to.

Glad it worked.  An 8" wheel usually fits frizzen faces nicely.
