Small Siler Modified

Heres a photo of a small siler lock I modified for a pistol I just finnished. It only took me about nine years. I gotta quit procrastinating. I should have started with Chambers small round fase lock but I don't remember if it was out when I started this. I added a hand forged frizzen spring and changed the frizzen. what do think. on it also.

Wow, you'd never get me to guess a small Siler was the starting point.  Very nicely done!

Here's the whole thing. Most every thing is hand formed or modified. The trigger guard is a fowler guard that was reshaped. It'll be at the CLA show for delivery this week.

Lovely pistol and excellent workmanship.  The only resemblance to a small Siler is perhaps the spur on the cock.  What's that 5% of the whole?  ...very inspiring.

WOW, great job on the lock, the whole gun as well. I'd like to come up with somthing like this as a replacemrnt for an LR Bailes lock for a pistol.

Great looking pistol! How a bout some specs, caliber, barrel length.  Breach width and muzzle width? Did you have to weld up part of the pan to make it into the round or just file off the flats?  You did a great job on it. More pic's of the other side?

It has an old Kennedy barrel on it. I beleive its 9" long and for sure it's .54 cal. The lock plate has some metel added at the tail and the rest was just rounded. The cock also had to have some metal added to it. I'll try to get some more photo's and maybe Jan will take some for the blog if I'm lucky.
