Have some more color on the stock and added finish to barrel. Still not sure I'll leave the barrel like it is. May have to redo it.

Yes - darker stock shows off the grain better. Like it much. The bl. is just fine & will be better with use.

Thanks guys. When I build a spec gun I like tinkering with my finishing techniques. I don't have to be in a hurry to complete it and I find out if some things I want to try out will work or not.  I still have to finish the lock and grung up the brass parts. Not sure how the brass will get treated yet other than the final rub down will be with a dirty patch from the bore.

Looks really good. I believe I would scrub some finish off of the barrel to match the aging of the stock.
