Please read the information about Gunsmithing in Central PA in the recent posts...Dauphin Co and Harrisburg by Wayne Heckert in this forum for a fascinating piece of historyhttp://americanlongrifles.org/forum/index.php heretofore unknown to most.

A Committee reply of interest:

"Nice, neat little rifle, and I particularly like the filed or chip cut edge under the cheekpiece. The gun appears to be very slender, but without a full length view it's a little hard to tell. Interesting grain figure in back of butt, with yellow color, almost reminds me of flamed birch wood instead of maple, but most likely maple. Nice to get an example of this man's work for the museum."
