.32 cal percussion rifle anybody have a clue?
« on: January 04, 2021, 05:10:22 AM »
Hey everybody I am fairly new to blackpowder guns and new to the forum. I was gifted this .32 caliber rifle at Christmas and it has no makers markings or any kind of identification on it. The rifle shoots great I put about 15 rounds through it today and it will drive tacks at 25 yards. I was just wondering if anybody here could tell me anything about the rifle as I am not well versed in older blackpowder guns. The man that it was bought from had no real prior information on it either other than it was a .32. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

The exaggerated drop in wrist and "fish belly" stock profile suggests an Indiana gun, or possibly an Ohio gun. Shelby Gallien

My guess:  1850 or 1860ish.
