Original lock

I picked up this lock. I’m guessing Germanic and 1740-1760, converted in Europe. The hammer engraving is whimsical and nicely done. Too bad it’s been scrubbed so, but ya take what you can get. Seller thought it was Dutch. Your thoughts on time and place?

That's a very endearing head to that hammer, Rich!
He can really see what he's shooting at!

So is it a lion's head with mane, or a furry dog's head with no ears??? Shelby Gallien
