Chief thumb piece
« on: January 06, 2021, 05:09:04 PM »
Looking at starting a new project in a late 19th century Ketland Chief’s grade trade gun, but I’m not able to locate the silver chief’s head thumb piece typical of the guns. Anyone know of a supplier for these? I know that Northstar had them, so I’m sure there are a few floating around somewhere...

I’m looking for the running deer used by Derringer and Tryon on their cheekpiece.
If anyone has or knows of any please let me know .... !
This is for a restoration , not a new build.

Thanks.....

The OP is looking for a thumb piece like this one.

They were common on Chief's Grade trade guns like this one from North Star Enterprises.

If you find a source please left me know. I am trying to find one too. My 5th, 6th and 7th Great Grandfathers were Lenape Indian Chief’s during the Trade / Indian Wars era and I would love to add one to my fowler.
