Horn for my son

My youngest boy(9 in April) asked me to make him a powder horn...he even got into my box of horns and picked one out...heres what I come up with...still have a little finish work to do but mostly done...turned maple butt plug turned walnut finial and turned antler spout and plug...spout is attached with 2 wood pins base attached with 4 wood pins

That is a very nice horn you have there Van. Your Son will be able to keep that and pass it down through the family...

He sure is...i gave him updates and showed him after every step...he would actually put the game controller down and look it over real good each time I showed it to him

Thanks Mark...in addition to my wood lathe I have a mico-lathe its made for turning beads...i use it to turn the smaller tips of antler into stoppers I also made a pen mandrel used for spouts sometimes instead of changing out parts on my bigger lathe...it works great!
